How to Get Gmail Alerts on your Mobile Phone

Gmail is the fastest growing email service and has one of the best Spam filters andclean interface for navigation.There are lots of features like Gmail Preview Pane and Addtional Chat Emotions which are not enabled by default but you can activate them from Gmail Labs.Email forwading to mobile phones  is feature which automatically sends email to mobile phone as soon as it arrives in your Inbox.This feature is still not supported by Gmail but you can enable it using third party services like way2sms or 160by2.

Get yourself registered  at http://www.way2sms.com/

Now login and click on the Mail Alerts tab in it (Note down your Way2Sms Email Id from here)

Logon to your Gmail account.

click on settings & then click on 'FORWARDING/POP/IMAP' option.

Select 'Forward a copy of incoming mail to" option & Enter your Way2SMS Email ID XXXXXX@way2sms.com there.

Check your Gmail confirmation code from adjacent Inbox tab  Or You will receive gmail confirmation mail alert on your mobile with subject line containing confirmation code.

Copy and paste the verification code in Gmail verification box.Click On Verfy.

Finished. You will now receive alerts for every incoming mail that arrives in your gmail id You can filter alerts by  choosing which emails you want to alert, and when you want to receive them.
